The history of the basketball school ĶEIZARS RĪGA
‘What doesn't kill you makes you stronger’ – this phrase exactly characterizes the basketball school (BS) ĶEIZARS RĪGA! This name may seem to be unknown for many in a basketball community of Latvia or associated with some already existing/former basketball organizations. Someone will deny school’s historical heritage, but nevertheless we consider our ‘predecessors’, ‘ancestors’, ‘old versions’ etc. to be previously existed respected basketball organizations of Latvia:

At present BS ĶEIZARS RĪGA structure consists of 3 coaches and 90 young people at the age from 7 to 18. We have a successful cooperation with two organizations: PBJBS JŪRMALA/JURMALA SPORT SCHOOL and coach Yuri Vasilyev and his represented organization RSC SARKANDAUGAVA.
All the youth teams participate in VEF Latvian Youth Basketball League, organized by Basketball Association of Latvia. In total we participate in 9 age groups and with 11 teams. In addition to VEF LJBL games we obtain practical experience at tournaments of different scales, for example:
1. European Youth Basketball League (EYBL);
2. Baltic Boys Basketball League (BBBL);
3. Various International Tournaments in Europe (VIIMSI CUP, Tornado Cup);
4. Mārupe’s 3:3 tournaments
Our school’s abode or ‘Church’ is located in Ķeizarmeža Sports & Leisure Centre in Riga, Ezermalas street 30.
